Restorative Dentistry

Your smile today may not be as brilliant as it once was. Years of wear-and-tear, injury, or poor care can hurt the look and function of your teeth. Dr. McCall and his team change lives every day through restorative dentistry. Rejuvenate your smile today!

Implants

Dr. McCall can restore a single tooth or multiple teeth using dental implants. A dental implant utilizes an artificial root made from surgical-grade titanium that Dr. McCall places in your mouth. Your jawbone bonds to the artificial root, creating a secure foundation for the attachment of a natural-looking porcelain crown or a bridge that is custom created for you. Some of the biggest advantages of implants are: they are more similar to your natural teeth; adjacent teeth do not have to be involved in the procedure; and, implants help prevent shrinkage of your jawbone that can occur from tooth loss. Implants can be used to replace missing teeth in the back, as well as the front, of the mouth.

Partial Dentures

A partial denture will provide you with a natural-looking way to restore your smile to its original brilliance. You will be pleased with how your new partial denture restores the gaps in your smile that are due to missing teeth that cannot be corrected by a bridge. Your partial denture will be removable and will be made from a synthetic material supported by a metal-free or lightweight metal that mimics your gum tissue and teeth to give you a beautiful, new smile. The partial denture will preserve your bone structure and the integrity of your existing teeth by preventing them from shifting and tilting in towards the gaps created by your missing teeth.

Crowns

Your teeth undergo a tremendous amount of stress during your lifetime. Teeth may show this wear in a variety of ways, including discoloration, chipping and cracking. Crowns restore your teeth and smile to look brilliant once again. Porcelain crowns can be made out of either porcelain fused to metal or all porcelain and can be shaded to match your existing teeth. Crowns made of precious metal (silver or gold) are also an option. After some tooth preparation, crowns are specifically fitted to restore functionality and to enhance the appearance of your smile. If you are experiencing pain when chewing or temperature sensitivity, ask Dr. McCall if crowns are right for you.

Bridge

Sometimes gum disease, injury, decay, or simply wear results in the loss of a tooth. A large gap in your smile, left uncorrected, can create significant problems for your dental health. Over time, your bite pressure may shift to other parts of your mouth to compensate for an inability to efficiently chew in the area of the missing tooth. Neighboring teeth may begin to move about, moving into the gap, resulting in discomfort, pain, and more problems down the road. Porcelain bridges literally “bridge the gap” in your smile.

Dr. McCall creates a functional, natural-looking bridge to correct your smile, to restore your bite, and to alleviate your discomfort. A porcelain bridge is created out of metal, alloys, or porcelain, and it utilizes the teeth on both sides of the gap as its supportive structure. After some preparation of the two neighboring teeth, crowns are created for them. A prosthetic tooth (or pontic) is fused between the crowns to fill the gap. A bridge is a semi-permanent dental restoration-meaning it can only be removed by a dentist-so you can rest assured that your porcelain bridge will be a lasting restoration to your oral health.

Inlays/Onlays

Sometimes effectively removing tooth decay requires the removal of a portion of your tooth. The removed portion is then replaced with a porcelain inlay or onlay. Dr. McCall customizes an inlay or onlay to fill the space left behind when part of your tooth is removed. Traditionally, inlays and onlays were made out of metal (much like traditional filings). Now, porcelain-milled inlays and onlays are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth and provide relief from chewing pain, cavity pain, and tooth degeneration.

TMD

One of the advantages of visiting Dr.McCall’s office is that we can often diagnose and correct problems that you may not even realize are related to dentistry. Temporomandibular joint (TMD) disorder can cause headaches, neck aches, backaches, and stuffiness or pain in the ears. But, rarely does the typical patient think to consult their dentist when suffering from any of these symptoms. Frequently, TMD sufferers mistakenly believe that they have an ear infection. At Dr. McCall’s, we have provided safe, effective TMD treatments, as well as sleep apnea treatments for patients throughout the area.

Orthodontics

FASTBRACES®

It used to be a dream to begin seeing results of orthodontic work in a matter of weeks instead of months or years. With FASTBRACES®, our patients can get exactly that!

Traditional braces are usually square in shape and typically move the crown of the tooth in the first year and the root of the tooth towards its final position in the second year, thus requiring about two years of treatment. FASTBRACES® technology allows for movement of the roots of the teeth towards their final position from the onset of treatment, thus completing treatment in weeks or in months instead of years!

Ask Dr. McCall if FASTBRACES ® may be right for you.
